RoboRebbe · Effective June 25, 2026 · Last updated June 25, 2026

RoboRebbe is a mobile app that helps people learn to chant Torah and Haftarah. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. RoboRebbe is offered only as an iOS and Android app — there are no web-based accounts.

Replace the highlighted placeholders before publishing: [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [CONTACT EMAIL], and [GOVERNING JURISDICTION]. This page is plain-language and meant to be readable — it is not legal advice; have counsel review it given the under-13 audience.

1. Who uses RoboRebbe (children's privacy)

RoboRebbe is built for people preparing to chant — many of whom are bar/bat mitzvah students aged 12–13. Because of that, accounts work as follows:

If you believe a child under 13 created an account or gave us personal information directly, email us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it promptly.

2. Information we collect

Account information

Your email address and password. These are stored on our servers hosted with Microsoft Azure. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing — we cannot read your password. You may also set an optional display name.

Practice audio

When you practice, the app records your voice so it can score you. Melody scoring (pitch and timing) happens on your device. For pronunciation scoring, short audio segments are sent to Microsoft Azure AI Speech for assessment. This audio is not tied to your name, email, or account, is used only to return a pronunciation score, is not used to identify you, and is not retained by us after scoring.

Progress data

Your scores, mastery progress, streaks, XP, ranks, badges, and weekly league standing — linked to your account so we can show your dashboard and leagues.

Push notifications

If you turn them on, we store a device push token so we can send practice reminders. You can turn notifications off anytime in your device settings.

Purchases

If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google and managed through our payments partner RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (for example, active or expired) — we never receive or store your full card number.

Limited technical data

Basic information needed to run the service reliably, such as app version and device type. We keep this minimal.

3. What we do not do

4. How we use information

5. Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers ("subprocessors") that handle data only to provide their service to us:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service. We do not sell personal information.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and progress data while your account is active. Practice audio sent for pronunciation scoring is transient and is not stored by us. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data (see below), except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and its associated data at any time, directly in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will complete deletion within 30 days, except for limited data we are legally required to keep.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, these rights arise under the GDPR; if you are a California resident, under the CCPA/CPRA (including the right to know, to delete, and to opt out of "sale" — which we do not do — without discrimination). To exercise any right, email [CONTACT EMAIL]. The adult account holder may exercise these rights on behalf of a child using the app.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International data transfers

RoboRebbe serves users in Israel, the United States, and elsewhere. Your information may be processed on servers and by providers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers. By using RoboRebbe, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
